Terms of Service
Last reviewed: 2026-10-13
These terms are between you and Deniz Top, Liebigstraße 2A, 89257 Illertissen, Deutschland.
The service is offered only to businesses — to those acting in the exercise of a commercial or self-employed professional activity — and not to consumers. You confirm this when you create an account and again when you subscribe.
What the service does
ChangeSignal monitors published sources for changes affecting the technologies you register, and reports the ones it assesses as relevant to them.
It is an information service. It does not access, scan, monitor or modify your systems, and nothing is installed on them. Acting on what it reports is yours to decide and to do.
Applicability is assessed at release level. The service does not know, and does not claim to know, whether a particular machine has already been updated.
Public beta
While the public beta runs, the service is free of charge. No payment card is requested and nothing is charged. During the beta an account is not limited to the trial period described below.
We will tell you by email at least 30 days before the public beta ends.
The end of the beta does not turn your account into a paid subscription. Nothing becomes chargeable unless you subscribe yourself, and a subscription then follows the terms below. Your account and workspace are not deleted because the beta ended.
Subscription and price
The subscription is €39 per month, or €390 per year.
Those are net amounts and do not include value added tax. Where VAT is due it is added at the rate that applies to you, and your invoice shows it separately. We do not use the German small-business scheme, so VAT is charged in the ordinary way.
It includes one workspace and up to 10 people, and covers every technology the service supports at the time. There is no per-technology limit.
A subscription renews automatically — monthly on a monthly plan, annually on an annual plan — until you cancel it.
The 14-day trial, and what happens when it ends
A new account may use the service for 14 days before paying. No payment card is requested to begin, and nothing is charged when the trial starts.
If you have added a payment method before the trial ends, the first paid period begins when the trial ends and is charged then.
If there is no payment method when the trial ends, the trial simply ends. Nothing is charged, and we do not set out to leave you with a paid subscription or an unpaid invoice you did not ask for. Paid access stops at that point.
Your account and workspace are not deleted because a trial ended, so you can subscribe later without starting again.
Cancelling, and failed payments
You can cancel at any time. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the subscription then ends at the end of the period already paid for, and access continues until then.
If a payment fails, access is not withdrawn at that moment. The subscription enters a retry period and the account stays usable while payment is being retried, so an expired card is not an immediate interruption.
If payment has still not been made when the retries run out, the subscription ends for non-payment. Paid access stops then, no further subscription period begins, and no further recurring charge is made.
Ending the subscription does not cancel what was already owed: an invoice that fell due before the subscription ended remains outstanding and payable.
You can delete your account from inside the product. A 30-day cooling-off period applies, during which nothing is removed and the request can be cancelled.
What we do not promise
The service reports what published sources say. It cannot report a vulnerability nobody has published, and it does not promise to identify every change affecting you.
Where a source publishes no severity, none is shown, and none is invented.
We do not commit to a particular level of availability. We aim for the service to be there when you need it and we watch it continuously, but no uptime figure is agreed and none should be relied on.
ChangeSignal is not a substitute for your own patching, monitoring or security decisions. It is one input to them.
Refunds
You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for, so we do not refund a period that has already begun.
If we bill you in error — a duplicate charge, the wrong amount, or a charge after you cancelled — we refund it in full. That is us correcting our mistake, not a favour.
The trial costs nothing and asks for no payment card, so there is nothing to refund if you decide not to continue.
None of this affects rights you have by law that cannot be signed away.
Liability
We are liable without limit for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under the Produkthaftungsgesetz, and where we have given a guarantee.
For ordinary negligence we are liable only where we breach a duty that is essential to this contract — one you must be able to rely on for the contract to work at all — and then only for the damage typically foreseeable in a contract of this kind.
Beyond that we are not liable. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.
What that means in practice: this service tells you what published sources say about the technologies you registered. Deciding what to do about it, and doing it, remains yours — and a loss caused by an action you took or did not take is not one we can carry for you.
Governing law: German law applies, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. Where you are a Kaufmann within the meaning of the Handelsgesetzbuch, a legal person under public law or a public-law special fund, the courts at our place of business have jurisdiction for disputes arising out of this contract. For every other business customer — including freelancers and sole traders not entered in the Handelsregister — the statutory rules on jurisdiction apply, and nothing here displaces them.
